Our Mission
The UC Davis Government and Community Relations unit provides campus wide leadership and coordination in sustaining and expanding local, state and federal governmental support for the campus’ research, teaching and service mission through the provision of community learning, discovery, engagement and advocacy.
Government and Community Relations works to
- Generate state and federal revenues for the university’s core support and for priority academic and research initiatives
- Build the foundation of awareness, understanding and support for the campus that results in tangible volunteer, donor and advocacy efforts on behalf of the academic enterprise
- Showcase academic programs to elected officials and community opinion leaders to sustain and increase political, community and financial support
- Assist faculty in their public service role by facilitating interaction with community leaders and elected officials
